Frequently Asked Questions

Platforms like WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace are convenient and popular, but that popularity comes with trade-offs. These sites often rely heavily on plugins and templates, which can slow performance and create security vulnerabilities. A custom website is built specifically for your business with clean code, stronger security, and a design that fits your brand. You get better performance, more control, and a site that works exactly how you need it to.

Most projects are completed within 2-3 weeks from our initial consultation to launch. This includes design concepts, revisions, content integration, and thorough testing. Rush timelines can sometimes be accommodated depending on project complexity. The goal is to move quickly without cutting corners, so you get a website that's built properly from day one.

We've removed large upfront fees to make high-quality web design more accessible. Instead, everything is included in a simple monthly package that covers design, hosting, maintenance, and support. There is a minimum 6-month commitment, which gives enough time for you to start seeing results. After that, our goal is to keep you on board by delivering ongoing value, not by locking you into long contracts.

Your PageSpeed Score is a measure of how quickly and smoothly your website loads. A fast site keeps visitors engaged, improves your Google rankings, and leads to more enquiries and sales. Many template-based sites, especially those built on platforms like WordPress or Wix, struggle to pass even the basic performance benchmarks. We design every site to achieve near-perfect scores of 90+ so your business stands out with a site that is faster, more reliable, and built to convert.

Yes. Both plans include unlimited edits to your existing pages and content. Send changes whenever you like. Most are live the same day, and the promise is within 10 working days on Foundation and 5 on Pro.

You already do. On a monthly plan you own your domain, your content, your photos and the site's HTML and CSS, and you can have a copy of the files whenever you like. If you'd rather pay once instead, the one-off price is £1,490 for Foundation or £2,990 for Pro, with hosting and edits arranged separately.

Some of them are good, and if one gets you started, fine. What they don't do is the part that brings enquiries in: writing pages around what your customers search for, helping you set up your Google Business Profile, and keeping the site current when your prices or services change. That's the bit I do every month.

Web design trends and technologies evolve quickly, and even a great site can start to feel outdated within a few years. Our monthly plans take the stress out of keeping up. Along with hosting, domain, edits, and support, we include a full redesign every three years. This means your website always looks modern, stays professional, and continues working effectively for your business long term.

After the first six months you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice. You take everything with you: your domain, your content and photos, and your site's files, so another provider can carry on from where I left off. If I registered the domain for you, I'll transfer it into your name.

You weren't greeted by a cookie warning or a 'subscribe now for 10% off' pop-up when you arrived, and your customers won't be either. I use self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics that don't need cookies, and I design sites to hold people's attention without interrupting them.

Email hello@coastlinedigitaldesign.com with what you'd like changed. Screenshots and rough notes are fine. I'll reply to say I've got it, and again when it's live.

Your site doesn't stop if I do. It's hosted on Cloudflare, so it stays up whether I'm at my desk or not. You can also have a copy of your site's files whenever you ask, so another developer could take it on. If I'm going to be away for more than a few days, I'll tell you beforehand.
